A downtown worth visiting is one that keeps transforming
From spring planting to winter lights, here’s what’s blooming, playing, glowing, and happening throughout the year.
The Spring Season
Downtown wakes up for the season — starting with 45,000 new plants.

Downtown Flower Display
45,000 plants across 270 species go into downtown’s public spaces each spring — a display so effective it’s used as a research site by CSU’s trial garden on Remington Street. The display stays on view through summer and into fall.
The Summer Season
The flowers are in full bloom, and downtown adds fountains, live music, and a season of sales into the mix.

Summer Sales
A seasonal sales event uniting downtown retailers around one shared promotion.

Fountains & Live Music
Downtown’s fountains and a summer concert series bring the district to life on warm evenings.
The Fall Season
The flower display winds down and the first holiday lights go up — but fall doesn’t have a signature activation of its own yet.

Fall Programming
Placeholder — no confirmed standalone fall activation exists yet. Currently, fall is the transition between the Flower Display (still on view) and Holiday Lighting (lights go up the first Friday after Halloween).
The Winter Season
Downtown lights up, and a run of events carries the season through Valentine’s Day.

Downtown Holiday Lighting Display
22 block-faces of LED lights from La Porte to Magnolia. First Friday after Halloween through Valentine’s Day.

Santa’s Arrival
Santa’s annual arrival downtown kicks off the holiday season for families.

Ice Skating Rink
A seasonal outdoor rink brings skating back to downtown each winter.

Great Plates
Prix-fixe menus from downtown’s best restaurants for two weeks each winter.

Old Town Spree
A winter shopping and dining event spotlighting downtown’s small businesses.
Year-Round
Two traditions that don’t wait for a season.

Foodie Walk
A self-guided way to sample downtown’s restaurant scene, one stop at a time.

Art Walk
A self-guided tour connecting downtown’s galleries, public art, and creative spaces.
